So Cute She Gave Me a Heart Attack!!!

Last night I was so tired, I fell asleep before putting Toolah, my pet sparrow away for the night. I woke up suddenly in a panic because I remembered I hadn't d0ne this and nobody in my house seemed to know where she was. Granted, she's very self-sufficient and able to hold her own with the dogs of the household (she, in fact, teases the dogs), but still I was freaked out. I kept calling her and looking in all of her "hidey-holes", but could not find her. As I stood in the hallway and scanned the living room, I heard a little shuffle in my ear. I glanced to the wreath on my daughter's door and look what I found. She was watching me worry and decided to keep quiet. She was asleep and didn't want to be disturbed. As I look at this picture, I realize she looks just like a mushroom bird that I would buy at Michael's, but indeed she's real.

I live in the country and last year my dog "found" a baby. She was injured and the rehabilitation center I took her to was going to euthanize her. After a week of taking care of her, I knew I didn't want that to happen. So, they said that sparrows are legal to have and make nice pets. So, that's how we got her. She is now fine and can fly. She just needed time to heal.

hello,Thanks for your message!
A pet sparrow!... how gorgeous is she!! she looks very contented in that pretty wreath of yours.
We've helped lots of baby wild animals..I hate to see them so helpless when they've got injured or lost their parents, and like you,I just cant walk away. I've had baby Badgers, bunnies, hedgehogs and endless birds in the back of my truck! we kept a baby bunny that I hand reared from a few days old..she was the tamest most affectionate little creature.
You have a lovely blog and I'll certainly be back to read some more!
